2018 is a milestone in Nordic Relocation Group’s history where the company celebrates its 25-year anniversary. We have put our CEO, Åse Löfgren Gunsten, in the hot seat and asked her to tell us a little more about herself and her experiences with the relocation industry.
Interview with Åse Löfgren Gunsten, CEO, Nordic Relocation Group
Can you tell a little about yourself?I am what you can call a Third Culture Kid; Norwegian mom, Swedish dad and raised in the Philippines. We moved to Sweden when I was 14. When I immigrated to my own country – culture shock big time!
How would you describe a normal day at the office?I like to arrive early at the office and meet the employees that are already in place. I check mails and attend meetings, and before you know it, the day has passed. It also happens that I need to assist the team with some of their customers.

What partner companies do you work with, and what do they mean for Nordic Relocation Group?
We rely on a wide variety of vendors and suppliers. These are cleaning companies, moving companies, languageexperts – just to name a few. We are also a member of several industry associations, e.g. EuRA and WorldwideERC, where we gain knowledge and positive energy. During the years, we have established business relationshipswith 13 RMCs, which are large Relocation Management Companies that help global companies worldwide withrelocation services. We represent them in Sweden and deliver the services that their customers ask for.
What is your opinion on labour mobility / international work places with employees from all over the world?
People will continue to seek employments abroad. But how this will be done and which relocation packagescompanies will offer their employees will change. There is a change of demands. Technology plays a more andmore important role. It is important to be able to meet these new demands. Therefore, we are very active in EuRA(The European Relocation Association) where we discuss and develop trends and partnerships.
How does the future for the relocation business look like to you and Nordic Relocation Group’s future?
Pretty good! We have a lot of new interesting customers. Many have contacted us thanks to recommendationsfrom existing customers that really appreciate Nordic Relocation Group. We are a company with a very stablefinancial position where knowledge, loyalty and a positive team spirit ensure the company’s future.
How will you be celebrating the company’s 25-year anniversary?
We will spend four days in Palma de Mallorca where we will celebrate our successes and highlight all the hard workthat each employee has contributed with every day at work. My employees are so much worth it.
